Joblogic
01The sharpest contrast here: their meter counts people, ours does not.
- Bill scales with: named users, field engineers included
- Publishes a per-user rate on its Standard plan
- Suits: field service and maintenance firms billing by job

The systems a UK contractor is likely to be shown, and the question that separates them. What does the bill scale with: named users, licences, annual construction volume, or the firm? Everything here comes from what each vendor publishes about itself.

A demo tells you what a system does. The contract tells you what happens in March, when you put six extra people on a job for eleven weeks. That is a different question, and it is the one this table answers.
| System | What the bill scales with | How the price is given | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unibuild | The firm. Never per person or per seat. Unlimited users on every plan | One figure per firm, in writing, usually the same working day. It covers everything | UK contractors running site and office on one system |
| Joblogic | Named users, field engineers included | Publishes a per-user rate on its Standard plan | Field service and maintenance firms billing by job |
| Procore | Annual construction volume | Publishes no price | Large main contractors running many projects at scale |
| BigChange | Licences | Publishes no price | Mobile workforces where vehicle tracking is the point |
| Eque2 | Not published | Publishes no price | Firms whose centre of gravity is Sage and the ledger |
| Causeway | Not published | Publishes no price | Large contractors, highways, infrastructure and local authorities |
| COINS | Per user licence | Publishes no price | Contractors and homebuilders wanting one ERP with the ledger inside |
| Autodesk Construction Cloud | User, project or account, by product | Publishes no price | Model-led projects needing a common data environment |
| Commusoft | A licence per office user, manager and engineer | Publishes no price | Heating, plumbing and electrical service firms |
| PlanRadar | Named users, with subcontractors and watchers free | Publishes per-user rates. Enterprise is quoted | Firms whose work is defects, inspections and handover records |
| Fieldwire | Named users, with unlimited-user options on custom contracts | Publishes per-user rates, with a free Basic plan | Teams coordinating field tasks against drawings |

Unibuild quotes one figure per firm, in writing, and it covers everything. There are no extras, add-ons, publishing costs or setup fees.
The quote usually comes back the same working day you ask. It covers every module, unlimited users, the staff app under your own name and its store publishing, and the client and subcontractor portals. Configuration, data migration, training, support and changes after go-live are in it too. The figure is sized to your firm once, then fixed for three years. The reasoning is set out in why there is no price list.
So the argument is not about who publishes a number. Several of the systems above do not publish one either. The argument is about what the number is attached to once you have it.
A meter that counts people has a property worth naming out loud: it charges you for growing. Take on six operatives in March and a per-user bill goes up in March. Give the client portal to a second quantity surveyor and it goes up again. Unibuild's fee is attached to the firm, so neither of those moves it, and giving a foreman a login costs nothing. That is the whole of the difference, and it is the reason this section exists.
Two more questions separate these systems as cleanly as the bill does. Each comparison page answers both from the vendor's own website and its App Store and Google Play listings.
| Unibuild | Ask every other vendor | |
|---|---|---|
| The app your staff install | Published on the App Store and Google Play under your company's own name and icon | Whose name is on the listing your operatives download? |
| Changes to fit your process | Built around your process. Changes requested after go-live are inside the monthly fee | Which changes after go-live are in the fee, and which are charged at a day rate? |
Unibuild is bespoke construction management software for UK contractors: a platform in daily production since 2016, shaped to the way each firm already works. Anything a firm needs, Unibuild builds for it. The build starts from a working platform rather than an empty screen, so a firm gets a bespoke fit without commissioning one from scratch. See how bespoke construction software works at Unibuild.
Your staff app is published on the App Store and Google Play under your company's own name and icon. Your operatives download your app, not ours. The detail is on the staff app under your own name.
Each page states what the other system publishes about itself, what Unibuild does differently, and where the other system fits.
The sharpest contrast here: their meter counts people, ours does not.
Unlimited users too, which makes this the closest comparison on the meter.
A fleet-first job management system rather than a contracting platform.
Built outward from construction accounting. Unibuild runs the job up to it.
A broad portfolio joined by CausewayOne, from design to asset management.
A per-user construction ERP. Unibuild charges the firm and runs the job up to the accounts.
Now part of Autodesk Forma. Strongest where drawings and models drive the job.
Field service job management, licensed per login, with daily licences for subcontractors.
Site documentation pinned to plans and models, sold per user.
Drawing-led field management from Hilti, priced per user.
Each of these systems is built around a particular kind of work. These are the cases where that focus is the strength.
| If the centre of your work is | Where it fits |
|---|---|
| A design and BIM common data environment, with models, clashes and drawing issue at the centre of the job | Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud, both built around documents, models and a large project team |
| The ledger, with the accounts and the job in one product | Eque2, which is built outward from construction accounting |
| Vehicle tracking and scheduling a mobile workforce | BigChange, which is built around the fleet |
