Eque2's strength is the commercial and financial end: contract costing, estimating, the ledger, and a tight relationship with Sage. If your pain is that the management accounts are three weeks behind, that is the end of the problem it is built for. So is job costing done on a spreadsheet bolted to the nominal.
Unibuild's strength is everything that happens before the ledger sees it. Hours arrive from a code scanned at the gate already costed to the job, at the right rate, with normal, time and a half and double time separated. RAMS are signed against a frozen version. Subcontract orders, invoices and payments sit in one ledger with retention tracked against the order it belongs to. CIS assembles as you pay, works to HMRC tax months and closes into a return pack.
Your accounts package stays for the ledgers, the VAT return, payroll and the statutory accounts. Unibuild exports to it as CSV, XML or JSON.
